High-Yield Topics β Where to Focus First
| Topic | Estimated Weightage | Priority |
| Partnership β Reconstitution (Unit II) | 25-30% | Must do |
| Financial Statement Analysis (Unit V) | 20-25% | Must do |
| Company Accounts β Shares & Debentures (Unit IV) | 15-20% | Must do |
| Dissolution of Partnership (Unit III) | 10-12% | High |
| Partnership Basics β Unit I | 8-10% | High |
| Computorized Accounting (Optional) | 5-8% | Attempt only if comfortable |
Partnership Accounts (Units I, II, III)
This is the single largest chunk of the paper β across all three partnership units, expect roughly 40β45% of questions to come from here. The newly added topics of Guarantee of profit, Past adjustments, and the deceased partner’s Executor’s Account are fresh additions for 2026 β do not skip them thinking they are minor. Master the Profit and Loss Appropriation Account, all three goodwill valuation methods, gaining and sacrificing ratios, and the Realisation Account for dissolution. Understand the logic behind each entry β CUET questions vary the scenario just enough to catch students who have only memorised formats.
Financial Statement Analysis (Unit V)
Ratio-based questions are the most predictable in the entire paper. Memorise all liquidity, solvency, activity, and profitability ratios cold. For Cash Flow Statements, practise the indirect method thoroughly and know which items fall under operating, investing, and financing activities. This unit rewards consistent revision over last-minute cramming.
Company Accounts (Unit IV)
Focus on forfeiture and reissue of shares, all combinations of debenture issue, and the newly added topics of debenture as collateral security and interest on debentures. Build a one-page journal entry reference sheet covering every scenario and revise it daily for one week.

Tips and Tricks to Score Higher
- Time is tight β 60 minutes, 50 questions. Give each question roughly one minute. If a question stalls you, flag it and move on. Return only if time permits.
- MCQ mindset is non-negotiable β CUET is not your board exam. You are selecting one option from four, not writing a solution. Solve exclusively in MCQ format for the final three weeks.
- Do not ignore newly added topics- Β Guarantee of profit, Past adjustments, AIS, and the executor’s account are new for 2026. Expect NTA to test them β they always do with freshly added content.
- Revise NCERT theory alongside numericals β Concept-based MCQs β nature of partnership deed, meaning of a cash flow statement, objectives of ratio analysis β appear regularly. Read the NCERT text, not just the exercises.
- Skip the optional unit unless you are very confident- The Computerised Accounting System unit is optional. Attempt it only if you are genuinely strong in it β otherwise, maximise your score in the five core units first.
