Thinking about whether it is a good idea to start preparing for CUET from class 11, the answer is yes. The sooner you study, the sooner you will create a balanced study plan, good study habits, and time management skills that will save you from last-minute cramming.
The National Testing Agency has clearly declared that the CUET syllabus is based on the 12th-grade syllabus, but 11th grade shouldn’t be taken lightly either; it helps create a strong base, and if your basics aren’t clear, then you may face further challenges regarding the preparations.
Before starting your preparations, keep these few things in mind. CUET is divided into three parts: language, domain, and general ability test. The syllabus for domain subjects is based on the 12th-grade syllabus, so you can’t start preparing for domain subjects as such, especially from class 11, so what you can do is start preparing for the rest of the two sections, language and general ability tests.
- Prepare for GT (General Test) consisting of three portions- Logical reasoning, Quantitative aptitude and General knowledge (Static and Current Affairs), with the help of newspapers and news channels, and make sure to keep a record of all the current affairs as well.Take the help of reference books for questions like logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, and direction-based arrangement.
- For the language section, practice questions like reading comprehension, grammatical exercises, vocabulary building, antonyms and synonyms, etc.
If you start preparing for these in class 11, you will have a strong command over them, and that will give you ample time to focus on your domain subjects in class 12.
Always keep in mind that if you wish to achieve great things and score excellent scores in order to secure a seat in your dream college, you need to work just as hard to achieve the same.
