Β
The NTA released the CUET UG 2026 provisional answer key on 9 June 2026 at cuet.nta.nic.in. If you spot a wrong answer, you can officially challenge it β but only until 11 June 2026 (up to 10:00 PM). This guide explains what a challenge means, how to raise one as per the official notice, and gives you a ready-to-use framework with real examples.
What Does “Challenging a Question” Mean?
When NTA releases the provisional answer key, it is not final. A challenge (or objection) is your formal request to NTA to review an answer you believe is wrong and correct it.
Here is the key point: your final CUET score is calculated on the final answer key, not the provisional one. All challenges are reviewed by a panel of subject experts. If your claim is found correct, the answer is revised and applied to every candidate β so even one accepted challenge can lift your score and rank. NTA will not tell you individually whether your challenge was accepted; the experts’ decision is final.

CUET UG 2026 ANSWER KEY CHALLENGE β *COPY PASTE THIS FORMAT*
1. Candidate & Question Details
- Candidate Name: _______________
- Application Number: _______________
- Subject / Test Paper: _______________ (e.g. 101 β English)
- Question ID: _______________
- Option ID marked correct by NTA: _______________
- Option ID I am claiming as correct: _______________
2. My Claim (one line)
The correct answer to this question is Option ____. The provisional key marks Option ____, which is incorrect.
3. The Question (as it appeared)
[Paste/screenshot the exact question and all options here]
4. Supporting Evidence
[Paste the screenshot/scan of the authoritative source β highlight the exact line]
- Source: _______________ (e.g. NCERT Class 12 _______)
- Edition / Year: _______________
- Page Number: _______________
5. Justification (2β3 lines, in my own words)
As per [source], page ____, [state the rule/fact/definition]. This confirms that Option ____ is correct, not Option ____ as given in the provisional key.
Keep one question = one clean PDF, with the proof clearly highlighted on the first page.
Examples: What an Exact Challenge Looks Like
Example 1 β A Factual Error (Wrong Option Marked)
- Application Number: 226xxxxxxx
- Subject: Political Science (321)
- Question ID: 22689xxxxxx
- NTA marked correct: Option C
- I claim correct: Option B
Claim: The correct answer is Option B. The key marks Option C, which is factually incorrect.
Evidence: NCERT Class 12 Politics in India Since Independence, Edition 2024, Page 102 (highlighted line attached).
Justification: As per the highlighted text on Page 102, the event took place in 1975, which matches Option B. Option C states 1977, which is incorrect.
Actual Example 2:
Subject Name- Economics and Business Economics
Question ID : 226895704772
My answer-Β 2268952732577 (Option D)
Answer given by NTA-Β 2268952732575 ( Option B )
Question 27- At a given cash reserve ratio of 50% with deposits of 1000 rupees, what is the amount that can be used to give loans by the bank?
1. 50
2. 500
3. 100
4. 1000
Justification: If the question had asked for the amount of loan that can be given by the bank in the first round, then the answer would have been Option B. However, the question asks for the amount which the bank can use to give loans, without specifying any particular round. This implies that it is referring to the total amount.
The question should have clearly specified which round and which amount it is asking for. In fact, there was another question in the same shift where it was clearly mentioned that it was asking for the first round, which confirms that the absence of such wording here points to the total amount.
Please refer to the NCERT extracts attached below, along with my handwritten solution supporting this claim.
Evidence:
