CUET, an entrance exam that is brought into existence by the Ministry of Education and is conducted by the National Testing Agency, is said to be accepted by approximately 250 universities, which includes 45 central universities, 37 state universities, 133 private universities, 32 deemed universities, and 3 other universities.
If we compare the number of universities under CUET now with the number of universities under CUET in the previous year, we can say that there is a significant addition to the number of universities that are now using CUET as a medium; initially, only 45 central universities were a part of CUET. Every year more and more universities are adopting CUET as an entrance criteria
The expansion in the number of universities helps bring the idea of the NTA of having a singular national entrance exam into play, although it will take some time to fully implement it properly in a hassle-free manner.

The introduction of CUET was somewhat needed and long-awaited because it puts an end to the pressure that students face in preparing for several entrance exams all at once. CUET has some positive points, such as being able to choose your preferred domain subjects, which makes it a fair opportunity for everyone sitting for the exam as every candidate will make a conscious choice of choosing the subjects they are the best in.
In conclusion, we can say that initially CUET was not as widely accepted as it is now, and this expansion in acceptance of the exam gives fair and equal admission opportunities to everyone.
